Cardiac Device Design Infographic

Implanted in the body, cardiac devices manage and monitor pacing, assist with ventricular pumping, and defibrillate the heart through the use of electrical pulses.

Device lead interconnects must safely and reliably link the battery and electronics to the lead. Designs must support strict standards for implantables (IS-1, IS-4,, or DF-4), as well as VAD requirements.

Electrical contacts can facilitate therapy delivery. But to perform optimally, they must offer ultra-low contact resistance, power/signal efficiency, and low insertion force in a compact package.
