The LKS is a multi-component seal consisting of a Canted-coil™ spring-energized, graphite-reinforced PTFE sealing ring coupled with a high-temperature engineered thermoplastic anti-extrusion element and a metal locking ring. Under high pressure and velocity, it guards against extrusion of the seal jacket material by supporting it in hardware with little or no “E” clearance. The seal’s design forces the wear pattern of the jacket material to take place at the lip contact area, not the hinge point.

- Exerts uniform sealing force against the shaft, lowers frictional contact at the lip area (reducing heat build-up and extending seal life), provides excellent corrosion resistance/chemical compatibility.
- Metal locking ring (interference-fit in seal housing)
- Prevents OD of seal from dynamic movement, minimizes friction/heat and prolongs seal service life.
